Amanda Hislop

Stitch retreat 'Landscape exploration' in Devon.

Stitch retreat Landscape exploration 1-3 May 2020 at Boswell Farm Harcombe,  -postponed this due to current circumstances; new date to be arranged

with Amanda Hislop in the tranquil setting of the studio at Boswell farm, with panoramic views of the Devon countryside and acres of farmland to explore including a private lake in beautiful woodland setting.

Take elements of Boswell farm landscape as inspiration; panoramic views of gentle rolling hills and the trees, grasses and foliage surrounding the lake; work with papers and fabric using collage and painting techniques to create tactile paper and fabric surfaces to develop with expressive hand or free machine stitch, add definition to surfaces, experimenting with colour and weight of threads to create line and texture interest within the samples.

Enjoy inspirational personal teaching with Amanda who specialises in drawing out the creative energy of individuals through exploration of the textile processes she has developed. Work in the light filled studio opening onto a large patio area and stunning views giving the potential to work outside should the weather permit.

The weekend is limited to 10 students costing £350 per person comprising expert tuition, materials and 2 nights delightful shared accommodation in the Linhay and Cider cottage on Boswell farm. All meals are included with tea and coffee facilities available in all areas and a selection of non alcoholic drinks; you are welcome to bring your own wine, glasses and corkscrews provided.

Bookings are through Amanda, with a non- refundable deposit of 50% required to secure a place, with full payment before or on arrival. Should the minimum number of students required to cover the cost of the course not be reached or other unforeseen circumstances the right to cancel is reserved.
